01 · The project

Paige, an email assistant a person always approves.

I co-founded W&S Consulting in Atlanta with Charlie Wheeler, who handles business development. Paige is the product we are building for small businesses that handle sensitive client information.

Paige reads incoming email, drafts a reply in the firm's voice from a written style guide, and puts the draft in a review queue. Nothing is sent until a person on the team approves it.

Working in the code today
Reading Gmail, drafting replies, the approval queue, sending only after approval, and the audit log. Drafting runs through a cloud AI provider.

Other tools such as Outlook, phone, and billing, and running the AI model on a client's own hardware.

02 · My role

I built Paige with AI coding tools.

AI coding tools, mainly Claude Code, wrote most of the code. My job was deciding what to build, breaking it into small steps that could be tested, reviewing and testing what the tools produced, and deploying it. What I worked on:

    The approval step

    Every draft waits in a review queue, and the send step refuses anything a person has not approved. A database rule backs that up, and automated tests check it.

  2. 02

    The audit log

    A record of who approved each message and when. The database rejects edits and deletions to that log.

  3. 03

    Gmail connection and credentials

    Google sign-in for Gmail access, with stored credentials encrypted.

  4. 04

    Deployment

    Deployed to Fly.io with a Postgres database, with each firm's records separated by row-level security.

  5. 05

    The client side

    I run W&S outreach and discovery calls with small business owners, and I wrote the offer and pricing.
